The Relaxed Soul: Finding Pleasure or Finding Perfection
By Dr Paul Haider
Every time you have joy of some kind you find it in some outside source that brings momentary pleasure. Like going to the movies and feeling happy, perhaps even laughing for a while. But when you go home, and get back into your regular surroundings you may become depressed, sullen, and gloomy. Tomorrow you may go out and buy some new clothes, shoes, and a brand new watch, and for a short time you feel happy, but after awhile you go back to feeling down.
Like a drug addict hooked on drugs… you go looking for another fix.
Most people keep avoiding the fact that they feel empty inside and disconnected from their true self, and everything they do day-in and day-out… is a process of avoiding their emptiness.
If you acknowledge who you are deep down inside by stripping away all the material things, your persona, and all the ways you present yourself to the world, you can start to see how wonderful, beautiful, and perfect you are.
At first your mind creates anxiety, because your mind keeps telling you that all the material things, ideas, and ways of being are “ME”. Yet if you embrace what is left with your “HEART” the fact that none of these outer trappings are who you are… a feelings of grace, joy, and bliss starts to fill your being.
Then… and only then can you start to see the world as beautiful, perfect, and filled with love, because for the first time “you” are beautiful, perfect, and filled with love. Thus you start giving service to your fellow human beings from your heart… thus filling your heart from the inside out.
