Prior to taking on leadership of Lady Golf, Karen Cantrell studied music and art at Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. A talented singer, Karen Cantrell received a voice (opera) scholarship to attend Converse College. In her free time, Karen Cantrell actively participates in community service, focusing particularly on working with animals. As a staunch supporter of Guide Dogs International and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, where she is a guardian, Karen Cantrell earned honors at the Seventh Annual ARF Awards, where over $ 20,000 was raised for the Palm Springs Police Search and Rescue and the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. Karen Cantrell is also a Facebook Ambassador for the Globcal Diplomatic Corps. In addition to her community work with animals, Karen Cantrell is devoted to empowering women. In 1982, Cantrell graduated from the Leadership South Carolina program, established by then-Governor Richard W. Riley. Karen Cantrell received recognition for her outstanding leadership efforts and was elected as President of the South Carolina Women’s Political Caucus. involved in politics in South Carolina and was hand selected by Governor Richard W.
