It Can Be Healthy and Easy!
By Dr Paul Haider
Cranberries have all kinds of great health benefits, and lots of us have cranberry sauce during the holidays… but did you know it can be healthy? It’s easy to change the recipe.
Cranberries are well known for preventing urinary tract infection, bladder infections, kidney infections, and preventing bladder stone production by acidifying your urine.
Cranberries contain lots of anti-inflammatory agents thus helping to prevent arthritis, cardiovascular disease, strokes, and chronic inflammation too. Cranberries are inhibitors of COX-1 and COX-2 inflammatory enzymes thus breaking the cycle of chronic inflammation.
New research shows that eating fresh or frozen cranberries does a much job of preventing disease than taking concentrated cranberry pills or capsules… so cranberry sauce too helps to prevent disease.
Cranberries have been studied extensively and now science knows that cranberries are a powerful anti-cancer food that helps to prevent prostate, breast, lung, and even colon cancer.
Cranberries contain lots of amazing antioxidants (Phenolic Compounds) that include hydroxycinnamic acids, cinnamic acids, cyanidins, quercertin, and more amazing antioxidants.
Cranberries boost your immune system helping to prevent colds and flues.
Cranberries have been shown to lower blood pressure, and lower cholesterol especially LDL or bad cholesterol, and boosting up your good cholesterol or HDL cholesterol.
Cranberries are good for your GI tract, and help prevent helicobacter bacteria from sticking to the lining of your stomach and creating ulcers. Plus eating cranberries is important for maintaining good bacteria in your GI tract… thus boosting your immune system.
Cranberries also help to prevent gum disease and also help to prevent macular degeneration and cataracts.
Sugar is the main ingredient in most cranberry sauces which is not good for your health, so to make healthy cranberry sauce substitute orange juice or pineapple juice for sugar, or honey, or stevia, and also use all natural apple sauce instead of sugar. — Tastes Great!
